Google Says to Cross the Highway

Google made its Transit feature available for Seattle, though it’s still in “Labs” (Google-speak for “alpha”) form. I can see why: to go from my office to my mechanic, Google advises that I first walk down to 6th Avenue South. To do that Google suggests that I walk through the park, down a steep hill, across I-5, and across several other surface streets. It should take “about 9 minutes” to do that. (Try for yourself.)

For my own safety I’m sticking with Metro Trip Planner. It’s not as JavaScript-filled but it won’t get me flattened.
